About the Designer
Xeny Odame loved art since she was a little girl. Her passion to create began in kindergarten. She presented a large colorful abstract to her class to be crowned the best artist of her grade! Throughout high school she painted stage back drops for fashion shows. In college, she painted wall murals for dorms. But there was another side of her creative spirit: sewing.
Xeny's mother loved to sew and passed that on to her. In college, she combined her artistic interest with her sewing interest and designed unique hats, pillows, and banners for African American sororities and fraternities. This launched her signature style of design: using various textiles as a medium for her artistic voice. That voice always contained expressions of culture.
Her artistic voice, in the form of a "Xeny Piece" as it came to be known, reflects the heritage of which she was bred. It boasts African, Jamaican, and Panamanian influences through the use of bright and vivid colors, uncommon combinations of textures and patterns, as well as, an eclectic mix of modern and contemporary design. Conscious of interior design, her works are complimentary to any décor.
Xeny Odame is married with two beautiful children while allowing her creative passion to grow, flourish, and inspire others. Enjoy!
