Kingdom of Kush
The region of Nubia begins at the point just south of Khartoum in the Sudan (Kush) where the Blue and White Nile join. It is linked to Egypt by the Nile River, which flows northward through both lands to the Mediterranean Sea. The meaning of the name, Nubia, derives from the enormous wealth of this blessed region rich in gems, stones, minerals and water resources. Historians believe that the ancients wore locs depicting supremacy and ultimate power. Just as her name depicts, Nubia wears long locs mimicking the bountiful flow of the Nile as worn by pharaohs and queens of ancient civilization. The fluidity of Nubia’s curves are lifted with waves of blue and white harmoniously marrying femininity, wealth, and voluptuous beauty.
